The Huskies defeated St. James Academy 10-2 on Thursday behind strong hitting, defense and pitching.

The offense got started in the 2nd inning on a single by Brynn Grosdidier. Elise Grosdidier then reached on a fielder’s choice and advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Lindsey Farthing, who reached base on an error. A single by Josie Grosdidier drove in two runs.

In the 5th inning, the offensive onslaught by Huskies was led by Ella Burvee, Farthing, and Shayla Edwards, who all drove in runs in the inning.

Elise Grosdidier earned the win for Huskies. The lefty surrendered two runs on three hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out five. Macy Crooks took the loss for St. James Academy.

Huskies racked up seven hits on the day. Brynn Grosdidier and Olivia Shin each managed
multiple hits for Huskies. Shin and Grosdidier each had two hits to lead Huskies, including a triple each.
