Both teams were strong in the pitcher’s circle in game two Thursday, but Huskies defeated St. James Academy 2-1.
St. James Academy opened up scoring in the first inning, when Hope Feldman grounded out, scoring one run.
The Huskies evened things up at one in the bottom of the second inning when Josie Grosdidier singled on a 0-2 count, scoring Lindsey Farthing who singled earlier in the inning.
BVNW pulled away for good with one run in the third inning. In the third Ella Burvee tripled
on a 0-1 count, scoring Danni Waller.
Farthing got the win for Huskies. The righty allowed four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out four. Kina Watts took the loss for St. James Academy. The pitcher went six innings, allowing two runs on six hits, striking out six and walking one.
Burvee went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Huskies in hits.
Olivia Moley led St. James Academy with two hits in three at bats
